About Us
What is the purpose
of AFTIP?
The voters are the employers and the politicians
are the employees. That is how our democracy is intened to operate. Yet,
in today's political environment the voters are consistently aliented from
the political process. AFTIP hopes to provide an avenue for genuine, accurate
and trustworthy political information.
This page explains how AFTIP will operate.
Archive
AFTIP will create the first complete political archive. AFTIP will record
or acquire recordings of political advertising in all state races. These ads
will be made publicly available and thoroughly fact checked. AFTIP will also
acquire debates, public speeches and editorial and news articles. As time passes
this archive will continue to grow and there will be accountability in the political
discussion as campaign promises and claims will not be so easily forgotten or
disputed. AFTIP hopes that a clear historical archive will promote a more genuine
discussion of the issues and reduce the dependence on sound bites and empty generic
promises.
Comprehensive
Every voter has a different level of interest in
a particular topic. AFTIP will be able to appeal to
the general public by creating an interface that allows
the public to have the information they want on the
issues that matter to them most as an individual. One
visitor to AFTIP’s site might just want to view a political
ad or two and read the summary while another might
want to read the full text and voting history of a
bill referenced in that same ad. Unlike traditional
media AFTIP will accommodate both individuals equally.
Verifiable
AFTIP is a non-partisan organization. AFTIP will
maintain its non-partisan status with vigor by refusing
to make any pro-active statements. AFTIP is merely
a carrier and collector of other statements. If there
is a dispute on any particular fact then AFTIP will
provide links to the relevant information and allow
individuals to have what they need to decide themselves.
AFTIP is a provider of verified information, not an
opinion maker.
Money
AFTIP is a 527 organization. This means there are
no restrictions on donations sources or donation limits.
AFTIP is not legally required to disclose individual
donors until $35,000 is raised, however, AFTIP will
be fully financially transparent and will disclose
all donations. AFTIP’s accountant will break all expenditure’s
into categories and list all donors (after we have
reached a list of 75 initial donors) and expenditure
categories on our website.

AFTIP will depend on public feedback. Individuals and campaigns are asked to
please send any invitations to political events, recordings of political media
